Anji, hometown of white tea, held the first "Anji Zhangwu International Marathon" on October 25, 2015. AIMSN pre-hospital emergency medical care, as a professional training institution of American Heart Association (AHA), needed to ensure the safety in the competition. AIMSN's pre-hospital first-aid team participated in the whole process where we provided AEDs (automated external defibrillator) as support and carried on first-aid training for the professional medical care team and personnel in health center deployed by Anji government before the competition.
This training mainly aimed at the players' trauma, as well as sudden death and other sudden outbreak of disease in the race. In the process of training, trainees practiced trauma treatment for patients, hemostasis and bandaging, fracture fixation, and other basic first-aid skills. They also experienced the pressing and artificial respiration of CPR, and operation and use of AED (automatic external defibrillator).In the marathon, 16 health centers and several portable AED medical teams were arranged in total. All information is linked in the whole process to ensure the safety in the event.
After the competition, volunteers have said that the training before competition was very necessary, and with the support of professional equipment like AED in the event, they were more confident. Besides, security in the marathon also rose to a new level.
